Terms of service

The terms,
written like a person.

Last updated · April 2026

y using DreamTracker, you're agreeing to a small set of common-sense rules.

I've tried to keep these terms short and human. They're still legally binding, but I don't see any reason to dress that up in five thousand words of corporate language.

Who you're agreeing with

DreamTracker is operated by Ari Horesh, an independent studio based in Pavia, Italy.

What you get

A dream journal. Voice and photo capture. Automatic transcription of your recordings, gentle proofreading, and pattern grouping on your own entries — all powered by third-party language models we route to on your behalf. Optional therapist sharing. All hosted, backed up, and maintained by the studio.

What we ask of you

Be at least 16 years old. If you're under 16, you can't use DreamTracker.

Don't abuse the service. Don't try to break it, scrape it, or use it to harm others. Don't upload content that isn't yours, and don't use voice recordings of other people without their consent.

Don't use DreamTracker as a clinical tool. We are a journaling product, not a medical device. Pattern analysis is for personal reflection, not diagnosis. If something in your dreams worries you, please speak to a qualified mental-health professional.

What I promise

To run the service with reasonable care. To keep your data private, as described in the privacy notice. To send you account emails, but not marketing noise. To honour your data-export and account-deletion requests promptly.

I aim for high uptime but can't guarantee 100%. There may be brief planned maintenance; I'll try to do it at quiet hours and notify you in advance for anything significant.

The free service

DreamTracker is free for dreamers and couples — there is no trial, no subscription, and no payment method to keep on file. The software is open-source under the AGPL-3.0 license; the source code is publicly available, and you may run your own copy under the terms of that license.

Professional use is a paid service under separate agreement: therapist plans and private installations are quoted personally and invoiced directly. Those agreements govern their own billing, renewal, and refund terms.

Free means free — not “free until we change our minds about your data.” Your dreams are never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train anything. If we ever discontinue the hosted service, we will give you notice and a full export window, and the open-source code remains available regardless.

If you cancel or we close your account

You can export all your data anytime, and you can delete your account at any time from settings. Deletion cascades through all your dreams, audio, embeddings, and analyses within 30 days.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. We'll try to give you notice and a chance to export your data first, unless the violation is severe.

Therapist accounts

Therapists agree to use client dream content only for therapeutic purposes within the agreed clinical relationship, and to follow applicable professional codes of conduct in their jurisdiction. Clients agree that linking with a therapist is voluntary and revocable at any time.

DreamTracker is not a substitute for clinical record-keeping required by law or professional bodies; therapists remain responsible for their own primary case notes.

Smart features and their limits

Voice transcription, gentle proofreading, motif grouping, and similar-dream search are powered by third-party language-model providers, accessed through the Vercel AI Gateway. Results are best-effort and may occasionally contain errors. None of those providers train models on your data.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from the service is capped at the greater of (a) the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months or (b) €100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

None of this limits liability for things that legally can't be limited (e.g., fraud, gross negligence, or any rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived).

Governing law

These terms are governed by Italian law, in line with the EU consumer-protection framework. Disputes go to the competent courts of Pavia, Italy, except where consumer-protection rules in your country give you the right to use your local courts instead.

Changes

If we materially change these terms, we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't like the changes, you can cancel and export your data before they apply.
